Tick-Tock Heart Clock

So I just realized that I just posted about a hypothetical engagement ring, and am now posting a heart-shaped necklace that literally contains a ticking clock. Subconscious Sabotage much? I hope not. How about just a gift for the Cowardly Lion in all of us?

The Best Engagement Ring

Honestly I don't really believe in engagement rings. They're like a showy, expensive down payment on the bride's dowry from the 1950s, or a bid on her- the biggest rock from the best provider. And why don't guys have to wear one? So the woman has to make it abundantly clear that she's off the market while the guy continues to harmlessly flirt with strangers until he actually says 'I do' months, or even years, later?

But then I realized- despite the kneeling on one knee, and the romantic setting, and all that other crap, it really doesn't feel like an engagement without that little velvet box. (Also, I tend to go deaf in emotionally charged situations, so the visual cue is critical.) So let it be known: I want an engagement ring, and it should be like this one. Simple, Sweet, Heart-shaped... and just $1.50.

Valentines Day!

Despite the fact that I never seem to actually have anyone to celebrate Valentine's Day with, it is actually one of my favorite holidays. See, my two favorite colors are Red and Pink, and I have a bizarre obsession with heart shaped anything, which I can buy in mass discounted bulk the day after. (An entire collection of heart-shaped bakeware will attest to this)

Anyway, so to celebrate the holiday, I give you my most recent wardrobe acquisition:

Obviously Cupid inspired, I'm excited to see how I can work it into a look that won't continue the lack-of-an-actual-person-to-celebrate-valentine's-day-with trend. Photoshoot to come.
