Glitter Bow Glasses

Things I have mixed feelings about: glasses as accessories for people who don't actually need vision correction. Thinks I like: Glitter, Bows, Glasses with Bows, things-technically-designed-for-tweens-but-oh-well-I'm-going-to-wear-it-anyway.

Now if only they were actually prescription...

Good Morning, Charlie!

If your inner geek and/or Bond Girl was tittilated by our classy Swarovski-Studded USB necklaces, then you'll appreciate this more casual  (yet every bit as bad-ass)  Punk alternative. Not sneaking into a formal gala this evening? Driving a speedboat to the mastermind's private island then scaling the walls of his castle while fending off 12 armed guards? This might be the better accessory choice. Charlie would be proud.

Cue Bond Music

What? Sorry,  I couldn't hear you over my BAMF secret agent skills, which have landed me a mission where I must keep computer codes critical to the nation's security on a  USB drive disguised as an expensive Swarovski Crystal Necklace. After I sneak into the multi-billionaire's mansion during his charity benefit (using my sexual allure, of course) I will subtly scope out the library for trap doors leading to...Well, you get the idea.

But if you just want a pretty way to keep 4GBs of  your most recent work project or resume on hand at all times, I guess this works for that too. Oh, and the plastic bit? Actually made of Sillicon. Valentine's Day in the Valley? This is the obvious choice.

Clear's The Thing IV

When a naughty Bag and Boombox decided to mate and create an illegitimate bastard child, this is what happened. Except clearly the result was not  at all a circus freak, and instead a genetic evolutionary mutation that will be embraced and honored for decades to come. Yes, it plays music from your iPod. Yes, it's available in a half dozen neon colors. Yes, it screams "Portable Beach Party" (...or maybe that's just me.)

CADtastic

What could possibly be better than the nylon diamond necklace pendant that playfully outlines only the shape of a diamond shown below? I dunno, maybe the fact that the entire charm is 3D-PRINTED. A GeekChic must-have for all Chic Geeks indeed. And just when I thought I was probably going to be forced to choose between my love of hot clothes and hydrocarbons...

Social Media...Sneakers?

Found these great Keds Prototypes courtesy of graphic designer Lumen Bigott. For now sadly they are just prototypes, but perhaps enough support will prompt actual production! (Hey, it can happen! remember these?)

Subway Style (Literally?), Instagram Inspiration

I don't care what refinery29 says, I am a huge fan of this Instagram Dress, and especially the MetroCard Purse. What could be a better combination of my love of unexpected fashion and weird obsession with subways? Seriously. And those shoes!

Subway Style: Tardis Lands at Kenmore

Drum Roll, Please! In our inaugural edition of Subway Style, (technically Street Style, but Subway Style sounds cooler), I present to you the  greatest synthesis of glamour and geek since...well, I don't know. I was going to wait until I had a real camera to start snapping,  but this was too good to pass up. My apologies for the 12MB of BlackBlurry-ness. Without further ado:

Name: Livvy
Location: Kenmore Square

Yes, carefully and classy-ly incorporated into that Damask Victorian print is...The Tardis.  And what better way to kick-off a celebration of style in by-far America's Most Academic City than with a Dr. Who reference fit for both Sci-Fi Nerds and History Buffs alike? See. Told you it was worth the pixelation. The shirt is available on threadless.com.

A closer look at what is possibly the most bitchin' use of blue over the entire course of the known universe:

Wonder Woman's Magic Make Up?

It seems the GeekChic trend has finally found its way into our cosmetics products...And I for one, am certainly not complaining. Actually, I'm pretty freakin' ecstatic. Introducing: the Wonder Woman Collection from MAC.

Pretty Bottles and Clever Color Names aside, does it actually have anything to do with Wonder Woman? Would Wonder Woman feel offended that she is being used to market make up and not a Bra Burning device?  Oh, who cares. Until they actually come out with Magic Bangles* what better way to get a daily boost of power and punch out of your makeup bag. (And really, what is make up but 80% Packaging anyway?)

*Or a Magic Lasso...but seriously though, why a Lasso? Was the hole symbolic or something? Was a sword too phallic? Was she too lady-like for an actual, lethal weapon?

The Collection:

A Shirt and Tote too? Ooh Baby.

Magnetic Nail Polishes, How Do They Work?

The Perfect Accessory for one of ICP's girlfriends, I give you, the greatest possible application of Modern Science:

I'm not sure if the magnet is really necessary to obtain such a simple, striped look but there is certainly some serious creative possibility here. (Or at least I'd really, really like to think so). Just a Fad? What do you think?

One thing is for sure, we probably won't be seeing these in lighter shades anytime soon...

Dudes: How to Get More Ladies in Bars

Surprisingly, 50% of my overwhelmingly giant pool of readers currently consists of dudes. But then I thought to myself- "why not promote fabulous fashion finds for dudes? Surely they are so poorly underrepresented in the fashion world! Especially those who never wear suits or designer sweatpants!"  So without further ado...

Dudes, do you get lonely? (and horny?) Do you wish women would approach you in bars for a change?(and pay for your drinks?)  I may have the solution to all of your penis woes.

I give you, the light-up shirt. Yes, this shirt actually lights up when in the presence of noise, and the pattern changes according to frequency. I have seen it myself first hand in action. While I shortly left the bar soon afterwards, I always regretted not talking to that dude. If I ever see another dude wearing a light-up decibel-indicating shirt, he is MINE I TELL YOU. ALL MINE.

                                                                                                                   Buy Here

For those of you not sold on the decibel design (though I have no idea why you wouldn't be), there are a variety of other designs including badass sunglasses, rainbow headphones, sexy women, and a butterfly. (OK- maybe would be slightly less drawn to a dude wearing a light up butterfly...or at least assume he was gay) At less than $20 each these are also a steal. Lucky y-chromosome holding Bastards.

(Though I do admit that Sexy Girl #2 Does kind of look like she has a massive boner...)

Breaking Badass

Breaking Bad Inspired Converse- $85

(Also Available in "Walking Dead" and "Dexter")

Little beknownst to you, I am actually a Chemist by day and a SecretFashionBlogger By Night. Needless to say, when AMC came out with a series about how being a chemist is a completely exciting and badass profession (that also may or may not have involved some drug dealing too) I was excited. When artist Jon Defreest designed a pair of Chuck Taylors based off the show I was even more excited, and when tauntr actually started producing them I may as well have been snorting the Blue Stuff myself.

I HIGHLY suggest pairing them with bright orange laces as shown below:
